FLAVATHON – FIGHT AGAINST ANIMAL TESTING
JD Institute of Fashion Technology associated with The Body Shop, on Tuesday, 28th August to set the beauty space abuzz. At the launch of world’s first ever body yogurts which are 100% Vegan, Jediiians participated in the Flavor run- the ‘Flavathon’ at DLF CyberHub, Gurgaon. These ground-breaking Body Yogurts were launched by Brand Ambassador Jacqueline Fernandez.
More than 200 students from various centres of JD Institute in Delhi NCR participated in the event to support the campaign- “FOREVER AGAINST ANIMAL TESTING”. The aim of the campaign was to end animal suffering in the cosmetic industry. Jediiians took a strong stand on the issue and signed a petition that would be submitted to the General Assembly of United Nations to seek a global ban on animal testing in cosmetics. The campaign is in the last leg and has received close to 8 million signatures.
Founder of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Mr RC Dalal was a staunch supporter of cruelty-free fashion. He was awarded “The Hero To Animal Award’’ in 2016 by PETA. His principles continue to guide thousands of Jediiians as they move ahead in life to become successful, ethical designers.
The event came alive with a high energy Zumba session and pulsating music to match the Flavathon spirit. Six Lucky participants won luxe hampers and each participant took home a body yogurt.
Speaking about the event, Executive Director, Ms Rupal Dalal said, “JD Institute of Fashion Technology is committed to leading the way in encouraging young talent within the fashion and luxury industry and nurture them as future leaders who embrace ethical practices. We support The Body Shop’s endeavours to fight against animal testing in cosmetics and promoting the use of natural ingredients. We are proud to witness an overwhelming participation from our students in this one of its kind ‘fun run’ will give them another opportunity to learn about best practices embraced by global brands such as The Body Shop.”
Jediiians loved the concept and their meeting with Jacqueline Fernandes for such a noble cause.
