VISIT TO ARTH- A CULTURE FEST
Arth- A culture fest is a festival celebrating Indian art, music, culture, crafts, history, traditions, literature and our society, at large. The festival was organized with the aim to bring together diverse thoughts and cultural narratives that define our civilizational ethos. Students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Hauz Khas campus went for a day-long visit to the culture fest to find inspiration in the Indian tradition of inclusiveness and broad-mindedness.
The festival brought alive various aspects of our collective heritage. Our young Jediiians who value learning through experience, were able to connect with their roots by experiencing the best of music, dance, crafts, street plays, food that underline our unique cultural identity.
The festival featured arts and crafts from all across India and had specially curated sessions to make youngsters aware of our rich heritage. They participated in various craft activities like pattachitra, Kagazi pottery, madhubani, tribal art. Skilled craftsmen demonstrated and taught the nuances of the craft to the enthusiastic youngsters.
India is known in the world for its openness to every shade of opinion and a culture of debate, discussion and dialogue. There were eminent speakers, authors and artists from across India and abroad, who participated in the event and shared their knowledge. Students, particularly enjoyed the session of Indian spiritual leader, Gaur Gopal Das on Dharmic Capitalism and a panel discussion on “3 Ts of Tradition- textiles, temple and travel”.
JD Institute tries to connect the students to our unique cultural identity and thought. Arth festival provided the perfect opportunity to the students to experience the best that our nation and its culture have to offer.
